My fourth year high school life was a case study. When I transferred to Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan during my last year in high school, I decided to make a little experiment. I decided to act like a typical girl. One who likes hello kitty and stuffed toys. Yes, I even convinced people that my favorite color was pink. And they believed me. This image I paired with a little boyish act like hip hop dancing and basketball. And people loved the schizophrenia. They even loved me too much. And I got more suitors than I expected. Men could approach this type of me as compared to who I was when I was in Don Bosco: the girl who aims to be a femme fatale.
I proved my theory right, that men and even women actually like women who are typically sweet. Who loves to follow orders. Well, at least, they love this kind of women/girls in a more screaming way. Men and women secretly love those “different” kind of people like Juno but then they just can’t gather the guts to approach for fear that they might get insulted or embarrassed in front of a lot of people.
I proved my theory quite well, if you know what I mean, but didn’t leave up to the act for so long. In the middle of the school year, I decided to hit back to a guy committed to a 3 year relationship and then went back to my basketball slash bohemian slash femm fatale kind of schizoid. People actually didn’t mind it at first, but then, they did as time past. They crucified me more for not being what they thought I was: the innocent looking girl. And so I say…”Everything is just an image”
When I transferred to UP, I decided to recall who I thought I really was. But realized that I was already so confused, confusion became my image….I am up to this new case study and I am hoping I wouldn’t get the results I expected. I am experimenting on persuading people that I actually am very indifferent and that I actually love these things. Things that I actually doubt I like after all. Anyway… watch out for the results for that.
